Michael Yelton continues his exploration of municipal transport operations, this time moving north and just far enough east to leave Wales for Chester. This fascinating operation, begun as a privately owned tramway system in the 1800s, was taken over by the Council via compulsory purchase in 1902. In 1930 the trams were replaced by buses.
