An omission for far too long has been a definitive work on Railway Breakdown Cranes which this new two volume work by author Peter Tatlow rectifies. This first volume begins with the time of the early short-jib cranes, many of which survived well into the 20th century, through to the later long-jib type. c250 pages 50 with over 200 colour and black & white illustrations plus drawings (to 4mm scale). Volume 2 will appear in 2013.
