The Keswick to Borrowdale Bus

This is a very personal book for the author as it originates back in 1955 when as a youngster he went for a camping holiday in the Lake District at Seatoller in Borrowdale. The book's narrative therefore sets out from Stuart's home town of Bradford to travel via Ambleside to Keswick and thence to Seatoller. This is a good hook around which to tell the story of the bus route. Unlike a lot of bus books that are focused on the vehicles, there's something very soothing about this collection of photos of old and not so old buses at work in their natural habitat of the tranquil settings of the Lakeland towns and countryside. For the enthusiast there's plenty of that sort of information about operators, the vehicles they used and the history of the route.
