Low-Floor Double Deckers

Since 1998, the shape and essence of new double-deck buses for UK customers has changed completely. Where previously prospective passengers had to negotiate entrance steps when boarding a double-deck bus, and there was little or no provision for buggies and wheelchairs. However, today every bus in normal service is built to a low-floor specification that is fully accessible. Illustrated with over 180 images, including many photographs of low-floor double-deckers with their original owners in their original livery, this book looks at the way the low-floor double-decker has developed, starting with the earliest models through to the latest hybrid, electric and even hydrogen-powered buses.
