Description / Maltese Bus in 2014

Malta has always appealed to the UK bus enthusiast due to the vast variety of vehicles operated on this beautiful Mediterranean island. From the early 1980's large numbers of second-hand British vehicles have been bought. These were AEC Swifts from London Transport, of which many are still in service today, some having been converted to underfloor engine! Leyland Tiger Cubs and many Duple and Plaxton bodied coaches. A number of ECW bodied Bristol LH's also arrived from many former National Bus Company fleets, most of which still operate today, and can be seen on this video programme. This video shows the vehicles operating out of Valletta bus station, and on many other locations on the island. You can also share the experience of a number of 'bus rides', all of which will make you want to pack your bags and try The Maltese Bus for yourself!
