Huddersfield Trolleybuses

Most types in action including the locally built Karriers. Power through rugged scenery at the Ainleys whilst winding out to Elland and West Vale (1961). Speed along the busy Come Valley to 'the mill towns of Slaithwaite and Marsden (1963). Ride the Birkby 'switchback’ and surge up to Crosland Hill (1964). Hum under the wires to ancient Almondbury and reverse at Fixby (1965). Descend the last two 'coasting brake* sections; take the 1949 extensions to Brackenhall and Riddings; and the steep south-side climb to Newsome South (1966). Contrast industrial Leeds Road with narrow Longwood Gate and the S-bend at Quarmby Clough (1967). Travel from Waterloo across town to Lindley and Outlane.
