Sietas & its Ships Part 1

The shipyard of JJ Sietas is arguably one of the best-known in northern Europe. It was founded in 1635 and from its inception, the company was continuously owned by the founding family until April 2014. From the mid-1950s a decision was made to classify the vessels according to types. A numerical scheme began with Karin in 1958. This scheme still continues to the present day. In this book Bernard concentrates on cargo ships, but other types also appear to illustrate the variety of ships that were built. It has been realised that two volumes will be needed to cover all the various types.
