S-Bahnen in Deutschland

In many major German cities, S-Bahn trains complement the purely urban rail systems and at the same time provide a link between the core city and the surrounding region. This book features not only the classic S-Bahn systems in Berlin and Hamburg, but all the networks which are distinguished with a white S on a green background, plus the various tram-train systems based on the Karlsruhe model (besides Karlsruhe also Chemnitz, Saarbrucken and Kassel), which are operated partly on railway tracks and partly on tramway tracks.
