Description / A History of the Buses Trams & Trolleybuses of Enfield & Edmonton

The latest volume in the series about London bus routes from the London Historical Research Group of The Omnibus Society gives a detailed account of the development of routes in Edmonton and Enfield. The story begins with the water-, steam- and horse-tram era preceding the Great War. Motor buses of independent operators appeared in post-war days and the book covers them and the LGOC and their absorption into London Transport. Electric traction was provided by the LCC trams and then trolleybuses, until they eventually gave way to the buses which continue to serve the area today. This A4 softback volume contains a selection of maps and timetables, as well as 72 pictures, a number of which are in colour. Route lists are given for various dates, as well as details of the several operating garages in addition to Enfield and Edmonton.
