Description / Hill of Howth Tramways

Compiled to mark the closure of Ireland's last electric tramway in Dublin on 31st.May 1959. Superb memories of the ‘Hill of Howth’ trams. We travel the entire line in both directions by open top tram to and from Howth Summit enjoying rich and varied scenes along the way. Observe trains on the Great Northern branch to Howth, look inside Sutton Depot, ride Brush-built open-toppers, see rare outings by Milnes cars, catch noctural No.11 (the Works car) in daylight action. See a trio of Dublin trams disintegrate, see No.2 at Perris, No.9 restored and majestic No.10 at Blackpool in 1985. Finally, we see the remains of the network today.
